The annual charity event Celebration of the Arts Red Carpet Experience is a time to bring the community together to celebrate the creative gifts of local and national talent. Celebration of the Arts also known as “COA,” mission is to encourage the creative mind and to re evaluate what is considered art and what should be valued by society. This event experience was created to inspire the community to invest in arts education of all facets by developing culturally cogent avenues for people to access art and connect with and support future artists ultimately leaving a lasting legacy for us all.
With that, the charity that will be benefiting from this fundraiser is ZUMIX, an East Boston-based nonprofit organization dedicated to building the community through music and the arts. A core belief is that music is the most powerful means of developing adolescent self-identity. Their award-winning music and creative technology programming is designed to equip youth with the tools necessary to reach their full potential, while creating a safe space for youth to explore who they are and who they want to be. Through community events, ZUMIX provides access to top-quality arts experiences for a low-income, under- served neighborhood.
Celebration of the Arts is the third annual black tie gala founded by Jae Williams, local filmmaker, to benefit the non-profit music education program Zumix. The event will feature live music, art exhibits, poetry readings, fashion exhibits, auction and film screening.
